Week 5 // GOD'S HELP
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one.
Take some time to visualise the challenges you're about to face in your day. Confession invites us to look back, but this warfare prayer invites us to look forward. Where are you vulnerable? Where do you need deliverance?
Prayerfully think through these circles you experience and intentionally ask for God's help.
1. Your Heart
Where do you get tempted? What negative thought patterns do you struggle with most? Where are you weak and vulnerable? Are there areas of addiction, brokenness and failure that defeat you? Pray for God's help.
2. Your Relationships
Are there individuals that trip you up and cause you to behave badly? Do you consistently find yourself being provoked by particular people? Who brings out the worst in you? Ask for God's strength.
3. Your Situation
What environments will you face today that challenge you? Is your workplace a difficult place to follow Jesus? Do you find yourself in entertainment venues or settings that cause you problems? Cry out for God's deliverance.
Finish your prayer by preparing to overcome evil and temptation. Tick on each day as you pray. You can make a note of what you prayed and anything you felt God speaking to you.
